Plickers lets you poll your class for free, without the need for student devices. Just give each student a card (a "paper clicker"), and use your iPhone/iPad to scan them to do instant checks-for-understanding, exit tickets, and impromptu polls. Best of all, your data is automatically saved, student-by-student, at plickers.com.

Plickers is an excellent app for use in a classroom. My students have enjoyed using the QR code style multiple choice responses. Scanning student responses is really easy! Fantastic support too!
Works exactly as described. About 15 min of setup time, and youre off to the races. Great way to quickly and frequently collect formative assessment. Students enjoyed it, too.

This app makes learning fun for the kids and great for a quick assessment.
Most polling tools require expensive equipment (a cell phone, or button systems, etc.) but this tool doesnt all you do is print out cards. They dont even require you to buy them from the company. This app is a little complicated the first time you use it, but once you figure it out it isnt hard. This app is useful more than just for teaching it can be used in churches or committees or many other places.
Some bad moments
The idea could have been great but the app turns out to be useless since there is no way you can write down the possible answers to the questions. So for each question, you will have to write on your board the possible answers each and every time... and then youll need more time to scan all the answers... too time-consuming!
This is an easy and engaging way to get feedback from students and to make quick assessments. Love it!!
Great app for classroom teachers where kids dont have devices of their own. Fantastic formative assessment tool that allows teachers to immediately determine student understanding in the moment. Wish question editor was more slick and allowed you to group and order questions more easily.
As a teacher who has large class says, this helps assess student knowledge quickly and efficiently. It would definitely be a five-star app, if only they could provide individual student reports. It takes a while to go to the classes and check who got what right and who got what wrong.

I wish there was a way to group questions so you can pull up a specific set of questions to ask.
I agree with the last post! Grouping questions to pull up for specific classes would be great! Everything else though...amazing! My phone scanned all 23 cards in seconds, and is extremely useful in deterring a students mastery of a lesson. I printed, laminated, and plan to use this the rest of the year and for many years to come!
